AskAI privacy policy

When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture. We store them with your plan and token balance so you can use AskAI. We don’t receive your Google password or access to anything else in your Google account. When someone signs in or buys a plan, we get an internal notification with their name and email address.

The extension runs on the pages you visit so it can show its toolbar, but nothing is sent while you browse. Only when you run an action does it send:

• Actions and Ask AI: the text you selected and the action’s instructions (or the request you typed), plus earlier versions when you ask for a change;
• Summarize page: the main text of the page (up to about 10,000 characters), its title and address;
• Translate page: the visible text blocks of the page (up to 100);
• Ask about the screen: an image of the area you selected;
• Side panel chat: your message and the earlier messages of that conversation.

Where it goes depends on how you use AskAI:

• AskAI cloud (the default): to our server, which passes it to the provider of the model you picked: OpenAI, Google (Gemini), DeepSeek or xAI (Grok). Page translation goes to Microsoft Translator. We count the tokens used to keep your balance; we don’t store the text, images or answers.
• Your own API key: straight from your browser to that provider. It doesn’t pass through our server.
• Read aloud: OpenAI’s text-to-speech when you use your own OpenAI key; otherwise your browser’s built-in voice, on your device.

AI providers process these requests under their own API terms and privacy policies.

The extension keeps your settings, actions, API keys and sign-in token in Chrome’s extension storage, which Chrome syncs across the browsers where you’re signed in to Chrome. Side panel conversations are kept in the extension on this device. Your own API keys are sent only to their provider.

askai.dialogix.app and dialogix.app use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are useful (pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser). The web chat at askai.dialogix.app/chat works with your own API key: the key and your conversations stay in your browser, and requests go to the provider you choose, some through a relay we run.

Plans and token packs are sold through Lemon Squeezy, which processes the payment as merchant of record. We receive the order details (order number, product, amount, email and receipt link) to add the purchase to your account. We never see your card details.

Only the services that run AskAI, for that purpose:

• OpenAI, Google, DeepSeek and xAI (AI answers), Microsoft (page translation);
• Amazon Web Services (our server), MongoDB Atlas (our database), Cloudflare (hosting the websites);
• Google (sign-in and website analytics), Lemon Squeezy (payments), Telegram (our internal notifications).

We don’t sell or rent your data and don’t use it for advertising.

The use of information received from the AskAI extension adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data is used only to provide AskAI’s features and is not transferred, sold or used for anything else.

We keep your account while you use AskAI. To delete your account and its data, email [email protected] from the address you signed in with. Removing the extension deletes everything it stored in your browser. Payment records are kept as long as tax law requires.

AskAI is not meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their data.

If we change how we handle data, we’ll update this page and the date above before the change applies.
