Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy for Dialogix App Chrome Extension

This document outlines our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you utilize Dialogix App, a Chrome browser extension.

Data Storage and Handling:
All personal data including API keys, prompt button configurations, and extension settings are stored locally on your device using Chrome's storage API (chrome.storage.sync). Dialogix App is a Chrome extension that operates entirely on your device and does not utilize a backend server to store or process data. All data remains on your local machine and is synchronized across your Chrome browsers (if you are signed into Chrome) through Chrome's built-in sync functionality.
Data Transmission:
When you use Dialogix App to process text or send messages, the extension transmits your requests directly from your browser to AI service provider API endpoints (such as OpenAI) using the API key that you provide. This communication occurs over a secured HTTPS connection, ensuring that it is encrypted and sent directly from your browser to the AI service provider's servers. There is no intermediary server involved, and Dialogix App does not have access to the contents of your requests and responses.
Permissions:
Dialogix App requires the following Chrome extension permissions: "storage" (to save your settings and preferences locally), "activeTab" (to interact with web pages where you select text), and "sidePanel" (to provide the side panel interface). The extension does not collect, transmit, or share your browsing history, personal information, or any data beyond what is necessary for its core functionality.
Content Scripts:
Dialogix App uses content scripts that run on web pages you visit to enable text selection and AI processing features. These scripts only process text that you explicitly select and do not access or transmit any other content from the pages you visit.
